History
With only a vision in their minds and a burning
passion in their hearts, Coenie and Edna Botha had a dream that
they needed to turn into reality. That dream was to reach people,
touch souls and change lives... in the millions... through television.
Since 1986, this dream has become a reality. In September 2001,
Trinity Broadcasting Namibia finally received it's broadcasters
licence.
On May 15th 2002, with only one camera and
no formal training in the art of mass communication, the Botha family
took the bull by the horns and went ahead to produce, play out,
counsel and organise this awesome vision into a working reality.
Through their hard work and perseverance,
the Swakopmund station has since been on air and the Walvis Bay
signal was added in October 2002. Since May 2003 their broadcasting
signal now includes Windhoek, Rehoboth and Okahandja with a 1Kw
Transmitter that sent the Gospel even further across the airwaves.
TBN International was started 30 years ago
by Paul and Jan Crouch in Los Angeles with a vision. The reality
of that vision has transpired into broadcasting on 38 satellites
with over 5,800 affiliates and member stations. And that is the
fire that fuels them to continue with their great work.
We are now the BIGGEST privately owned television
network in Namibia, with assets just under N$ 3 Million able to
reach approximately 90,000 families with the gospel 24 hours, 7
days a week. We also currently broadcast a total of 7 hours Afrikaans,
1/2 hour Oshivambo and a total of 10 hours per week local production.
We operate on a cash basis, have NO debt and
are maintained solely by the loyal support of our viewers
Close to 500 people have made a commitment
to the Lord as Saviour in the past year alone and over 4500 telephone
calls have been received with peoples prayer requests. Many of those
prayers that have been answered have changed people's lives, sowing
the seeds of the Gospel even further into our societies.
We have been involved in:
|
a. |
Feed approximately 350 children 6 days
a week |
|
b. |
Distributing Bibles in Prisons |
|
c. |
Supporting training of 20 pastors in
ISOM (International School of Ministry) |
|
d. |
Supports various other ministries which
are involved in spreading the gospel |
One would think that after achieving our goal
and being blessed in our efforts that we would sit back and be satisfied.
But the dream continues to get bigger. We have recently received
additional broadcasters licence for Oshakati and Rundu and trust
that we will be able to set up transmitters in these cities within
the next few months.
Viewers depend on TBN. Especially when facing
life's difficulties. They'll always find positive Christian programming,
programs that offer hope, encouragement, and friendly smiles. We
take our responsibility seriously. People depend on TBN. Lives are
changed. Hearts are touched.
When our viewers need a friend, they have
TBN. Because we’re there for YOU!

TBN's Statement of Faith.
We believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired,
infallible, and authoritative source of Christian doctrine and precept.
We believe that there is one God, eternally
existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that man was created in the image
of God, but as a result of sin is lost and powerless to save himself.
We believe that the only hope for man is to
believe on Jesus Christ, the virgin-born Son of God, Who died to
take upon Himself the punishment for the sin of mankind and Who
rose from the dead, so that by receiving Him as Saviour and Lord,
man is redeemed by His Blood.
We believe that Jesus Christ in person will
return to earth in power and glory.
We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells those
who have received Christ for the purpose of enabling them to live
righteous and godly lives.
We believe that the Church is the Body of
Christ and is composed of all those who, through belief in Christ,
have been spiritually regenerated by the indwelling Holy Spirit.
The mission of the Church is worldwide evangelisation on the one
hand, and the nurture and discipline of Christians on the other.
